Subjects Taught
First Grade

I have an undergraduate degree in behavioral science from King University in Britol, TN.  I have a Masters in Education from Lee University.  I have a Education Specialist degree in curriculum from Lincoln Memorial. I also have an add on to my degrees for Reading Recovery.  This is an intense reading specialst training from University of Georgia.

I spent my first 13 years teaching in Whitfield County, Georgia.  I taught first grade for many years, kindergarten, fourth grade, and several years being a Reading Recovery teacher.  This is my third year at East Brainerd teaching first grade and my 15th year in public education.

I am 37 years old, have been married for 15 years to my awesome husband, and have two daughters, Gracey and Lola.  Gracey is nine and Lola is 5.  I am originally from North Carolina, but love Chattanooga.  My husband and I met in college, where I played soccer for all four years.  At one time we were ranked number nine in the nation for NAIA schools.  I so enjoy teaching and love workign with my team at East Brainerd.  In my free time I love being with my family.  We love to spend time on our boat, swim, travel, and be outside.  We spend a great deal of time at gymnastics meets for my oldest daughter.
