I grew up playing sports year-round. Whether it was basketball or volleyball, it felt like I was always going to practices, tournaments, or games. I went to UNC-Asheville where I played volleyball.  My Junior year at UNC-A, I was working on my degree in Psychology. I was planning to go into child psychiatry, until I met a precious little boy named Judah. Judah has Down's Syndrome and I was instantly in love with his sweet personality. I quickly began working with him and diving into the world of Special Education. I stopped playing volleyball after I met Judah so I could be his paraprofessional. I finished my degree in Psychology, and pursued my Master's in Special Education. I am now in my 5th year of teaching Exceptional Education. Thanks to Judah, I learned there is more to life than competition and athletics. He pulled out  my passion for teaching children with special needs.
